DVA psychology in the Sutherland Shire and by telehealth
I’m a registered psychologist working with veterans and ex-serving ADF members funded through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). I see people by telehealth across Australia or in person in the Sutherland Shire.
I understand the culture of military life and the challenges that can come with service and with leaving it.
Areas I work with
Trauma and PTSD.
Sleep difficulties and insomnia.
Anxiety and depression.
Transition out of the ADF.
Adjusting to injury, pain or changes in health.
How DVA referrals work
Gold Card holders can access clinically necessary treatment for all conditions. White Card holders can access treatment for their accepted conditions.
Your GP refers you to me using a DVA referral (the D904 form or a referral letter). Each referral covers up to 12 sessions or 1 year, whichever comes first, and your GP can provide a new referral if more sessions are needed.
Costs
With a valid DVA referral, DVA pays for your sessions directly. If you don't have a DVA card, see Services for other ways to access sessions.
Getting started
Ask your GP for a DVA referral, then book online or contact me. GPs and Defence health professionals are welcome to get in touch about referrals.
